Embedded system design as a discipline has long been pursued in various industrial application domains including avionics, aerospace, automobile, consumer electronics and industrial control. Within the Asia-Pacific region, the embedded system industry has exhibited year-on-year growth, to the point where it has become an important contributor to many regional economies. This has resulted in a growing need for highly-trained and skilled manpower to meet the insatiable demands of industry, leading to an emphasis on embedded systems in many Asia-Pacific universities. In addition, several Asia-Pacific nations, so long lagging behind Europe and the Americas, have emerged in recent years as major powerhouses of embedded systems R&D, both in industry and in academia. This backdrop led to the creation, in 2007, of a regional conference dedicated to embedded systems: APESER. In our third annual meeting we now aim to gather the embedded systems community together to discuss issues and challenges in this field. Topics discussed in the conference include, but are not limited to, the following:
ACCEPTED PAPERS Thank you to the many who contacted us to express your interest in APESER, especially those from the industrial sector. Thanks also to the many authors who submitted papers to APESER this year, giving us a significant increase in the number of papers registered over previous years. With just two days of presentation sessions (which include keynotes, free tutorials for attendees and hopefully a technical visit), the technical chairs were forced to limit the number of papers for presentation, to a little less than 60% of total submissions. However this has meant that the quality of all the accepted papers is maintained at a good level. Overall, we can count 15 nationalities represented in our paper authors, stretching right from the East to the West, covering embedded systems education, research and industry. LATEST INFORMATION The full list of accepted papers can be seen here. -- Camera-ready paper submissions will be handled via EDAS, here. -- [15/11/2009] Registration
for attendees will be handled via EDAS, here.
-- [18/11/2009] Full conference programme is now available here. --
[18/11/2009] Accommodation on campus is provided by the Nanyang Executive Centre. --
[18/11/2009] Four tutorial sessions are available, free of charge for APESER attendees, but at a small cost to walk-in attendees: |
